Seeing RED!!

Grr!!! The Red Sox are down 5-1 to the Yankees and it's the bottom of the 9th. Manny Ramirez whacks a long home run and Kevin Millar walks. The Yankees 2nd baseman throws the ball into left field on a made-to-order doubleplay grounder, and Varitek singles to load the bases. A pop fly single makes the score 5-3. Up to the plate steps Alex Cora, hitting about .200 -- exactly his weight, by the way. And on deck is Johnny Damon, hitting over .340. So Manager Francona lets Cora swing away instead of bunting and he hits into a double play, third to catcher to first. Damon grounds out and that's the game. I mean, really!!

Call me crazy (or a Yankees' fan) but I found the game quite enjoyable. In fact, I thought it was a pretty good weekend, baseball-wise as the Yanks took 3/4 from the Sawx and the A's did the same to the Rangers.

Hey, Bruce....haven't heard from all season!

Did you like the Unit's performance? How about the other "pitchers"?

We'll come back and trounce you guys, so you had better enjoy the A's.

The Yankees have used 12 or 13 starters so far with fairly mixed results. I'd like to see them try using two of these AAA pitchers simultanueously. That might give them the edge they need.

On a serious note, as of tonight, the A's and Sox have identical records. Which one of those teams would you pick to finish with a better record?
