Sorry, we're closed
New Jersey closed yesterday.
Not all of it. Just the state government and the "non-essential" departments it controls. Seems the legislature couldn't agree on a budget. The new governor, who made millions on Wall Street, wants to balance the budget by raising he state sales tax from 6% to 7%, but his fellow Democrats believe there will be a backlash at the polls next election.
Gov. Corzine has accepted a number of alternatives but they are about $1,000,000,000 apart.

I agree with Corzine- he's good, unfortunately he may get voted out for being a tough guy, but he has four years to prove himself.
It's nice to have a governor who sees the real picture as opposed to one who constantly gives the people what they want- bottom line, eventually it's going to be time to pay the piper. It looks like that time is now. Better now than when things take a turn for the worse, if it hasn't already!
