Pennsylvania roads are...

...smoooooth, black, windy, narrow, curvy. They rollercoaster up and down among the trees and they have no shoulders. And sightlines are pretty much non-existent. In a word, Pennsylvania roads are FUN!!

This weekend, we visited S. and P. in their second home in the Pocono Mts of Pennsylvania and because we picked P. up in Princeton, they did not have a 4-passenger car. So I got to drive my Acura TSX on some of the best drivers roads I've been on in years!! It was wonderful. They of course were interested in getting to this or that flea market or antiques shop, but I was in my element when we were shall I say "between stops"!

The TSX, like most modern cars, has a shiftable automatic transmission. Only 5 forward speeds instead of the 7 S. has in his new Mercedes CLK, but they were more than adequate. Never did hit 5th and use of 4th was pretty rare. I have to admit that it shifts better than I did with a purely manual transmission.

Oh, the brakes on that car are quite impressive (details not available).

Unfortunately, colder weather will bring snow, busses and NY drivers to the Poconos, so no more fun until next Spring.
