It's been a while

Had a unique experience yesterday! Got an email via this blog from someone with a bogus email address who had seen my contribution to "Unix Unleashed" and didn't like it. He/she felt moved to let me know and try to insult me at the same time. Kind of pathetic, I thought. There's a person in need of some holiday cheer!

I've joined the cell phone world in a big way. I traded in (so-to-speak) my SONY TJ-27 for a Palm TREO 700p. That's a very nice unit!! And I'm enjoying the cell phone too. You can tell that I haven't quite reached the right state psychologically because, yesterday while food shopping, it never dawned on me that I could call my wife at work and ask her what to substitute for items the store didn't have. Of course, she was happy that I didn't call because she was quite busy but, heck, if I have a cell phone and people can call me whenever they want, I can surely feel justified in calling them. Of course, no one has called me except my kids in response to my wife's request, but that's OK. My number? :-) Sorry, but I have only 200 minutes.

I think our community's Thursday night duplicate bridge game id about to disappear. After last night's game, I heard the best played saying that he would never play with X again. Seems that as some of us get older, we lose some of our mental skills.

My partner and I won last night, but, I'll tell you -- she has her own system of bidding! But since we won, she said, "You can't argue with success!" I told her to buy a lottery ticket and get one for me, too!

Busy week: Sunday we're going to S & P's for a Chanukah party and Tuesday evening is the wife's study group Christmas party!
