Politics, politics, politics

1) You remember when NJ Gov Corzine's SUV went off the Garden State Parkway a little while back? Well, the NJ State Police have investigated the trooper who was driving and they want to suspend him up to 5 days without pay. This is despite the fact that the driver of the white pickup that swerved into his path was breaking the law as was the driver of the red pickup that swerved into the path of the white pickup!!

2) A local businessman has been trying to get a variance since 2004. Seems the Planning Board keeps forgetting to put it on their agenda. And the township inspectors keep visiting this guy's other businesses and -- guess what? -- keep finding building code violations such as "installing a door without a permit".

3) And 50% of America doesn't like Hilary Clinton! Maybe we should only put up likable candidates and find a way for the really competent people to run the government without the input of the Sandra Bullocks!!

4) I think that only zillionaires should run for office. They could pay for their own campaigns and (probably) would have enough money so they could not be influenced by lobbyists, etc. Oops! Forgot the religious conservatives. Oh, well.

Non-political: I walked for 20 minutes on the treadmill today (at 2 MPH) with no labired breathing! :-)

I can breathe again!!

It looks like I've been holding my breath while the Yankees crept to within 7-1/2 games of the Red Sox, but now that the gap has again risen to 11-1/2, I can breathe easy.

Actually, I can't breathe easy. I went to a pulmonologist in Philadelphia last week and he said the diagnosis made by a local pulmonologist (COPD) was wrong. He doesn't have a diagnozis yet but is sending me off for many tests. Where's Greg House when you need him!!

I have to wonder about this country of ours. Why is it that the people who are anti-abortion and anti-birth control are also against providing support for the people who give birth to these so-called unwanted babies? And isn't it ironic that most of them belong to religious groups whose leader called for charity and for loving one's fellow? How do they sleep at night?
